ReadSpeaker

WebReader

ReadSpeaker's WebReader is a text-to-speech tool that is ideal for those who benefit from having on-screen text read to them. This tool can read content within Canvas and can even define and translate words. Its other features include limiting how much text is visible at a time, enlarging text, adjusting the speaker rate, and manipulating text and highlight colors to make it easier to read and/or follow along.

Simply select/highlight the text you want read and click the "Listen" button from the ReadSpeaker menu that pops up near the text.

Note: If your course uses math formulas in Canvas, you will need to change a ReadSpeaker setting so it can read them. Right-click on one of the formulas, select "Math Settings," then "Math Renderer," and then "HTML-CSS."
